Great breakfast spot! The food was fresh, hot, and ready fast. The fresh baked breads and pastries are delicious too, and the price is reasonable. The potatoes are excellent! I see some reviewers complaining about the counter service model, but I think it's a refreshing change from the usual restaurant experience. No need to sit waiting for a server, if you need something you just get up and get it. It's reminiscent of many restaurants in the UK, and I wish it was more common here.

Stopped by for lunch and I’m so glad I did. The turkey sandwich was delicious. The fries were excellent, tasted just like English chips you’d get from the chip shop. Enough to share so I was able to fit in a delicious piece of pie as well.

We stopped by for breakfast and it was delicious! Got the farmers breakfast and the eggs Benny. I thought both tasted wonderful, but would choose something else next time! Not only are staff super friendly but other guests are just as kind. There are roosters walking around the property which you can feed with their mixed feed for 25c.

I brought my senior friend to The Roost and she was thrilled. She had surgery recently and this was one of her first outings. She was so happy that the barista was able to make her complicated coffee choice perfectly and the GF cookie she had to go with it was divine. The staff were so friendly and accommodating and didn't mind that we forgot the handicap tag and allowed us to use the available parking. (My only one concern is the broken railing on the mobility ramp but because she used a walker, she didn't need to use it.) Thank you all so much for helping to make this outing for my dear friend so special.

I enjoyed a great breakfast here on a way to a work meeting in East Saanich. On the way out, as I was paying, I noticed this extraordinary strawberry rhubarb pie. It is Mr. Buttercream’s favourite, so I bought it to take home with me. WHAT a great pie it has been (we’re still working on it). Fantastic pastry, and fresh fruit all the way through. I will never again travel the Saanich Peninsula without stopping in at The Roost!

What a great breakfast spot. Make your traditional breakfast of eggs with meatloaf - yum. Not into a protein bust? Why not a cinnamon bun french toast. A great place for a morning eat if you are just off the ferry.

Amazing pastry’s! Need to stop place either leaving to the airport or first stop when you arrive. We had the butter chicken samosa. Sausage rolls, Cornish pastry, bee hive pasty and a classic Nanaimo Bar. They have a unique bus dinning area which I thought was cool.

Highly recommended! They have a unique selection of wines and a great atmosphere! We were fortunate to meet the owner of the winery, who is super friendly, kind and informative. The prices are very affordable and the portions are very generous, for food and wine. A little gem!
